专利摘要:
Shelving protector, normally used in warehouses where forklift trucks or similar vehicles are used, formed by one or several pyramidal elements that cover the shelving structure and that due to their special design and layout, prevent the forklift vehicle Impact directly against the shelving support, thus preventing the shelf system from being damaged. SHELF PROTECTOR
DESCRIPTION
Shelving protector
Object of the invention.
The present invention relates to a device that has been specially designed to protect the storage shelves of large installations where forklifts or similar vehicles are used.
The invention discloses a protective cover of a column of the base of a shelf. The protective cover comprises a pyramidal shaped element, a coupling of supports for the frontal protection, and one or several crossbeams of supports that join the legs of the shelves. All these elements are metallic so they will withstand an impact of the forklift or when it is mounted on the pyramidal element or on the support coupling. The coupling of supports joins two pyramidal elements protecting the gap between the two legs of the shelf. The support sleepers are placed between the two legs of the shelf, above the support couplings preventing access to the gap between the legs of the shelf.
Background of the invention.
In the market there are some models of protectors that are placed on the legs of the shelves in order to make the impact caused by forklifts smaller.
For example, the shelf protector of US2016235202 is an outer shell made of flexible material that is mounted on a vertical column so that in the event of a shock it dampens the impact.
A similar operation is that made by the patent EP1738030 "Shelving impact protector for palletized loads" whose protection element is coupled to the column without the need for any fixation and protects it from the impacts it may receive.
The ES 1050834 U metal shelving bezel protector consists of a piece of thermoplastic material, angular in shape, with internal faces in a plane inclined towards the outside that serves as a frontal protection and as a bezel and / or reference element in terms of safety due to its Different color to the shelving profiles. It can be thought that it is very similar to the invention at hand but the main difference, apart from the material with which it is made, is that the protector we propose resists the impact avoiding the contact of the truck with the bookshelf.
Description of the invention
The invention proposes a pyramidal shaped element (1) that is placed on the legs of the shelf (2) and whose inclination causes the truck instead of hitting this pyramidal shaped element (1), to climb on it and not I hit the bookshelf. This pyramidal shaped element (1) absorbs the weight of the truck, preventing the truck from hitting the shelf (2).
To make the protection more effective, another element is incorporated into the pyramidal shaped element (1), the support coupling (4) that will join two pyramidal shaped elements (1) making the shelving's frontal protection more robust since It has the same inclination as the pyramidal elements (1) and exerts the same function. Finally, the protection system is completed with one or more crossbeams of supports (3) that join two of the legs of the shelf (2) so that the truck if it climbs on the coupling of supports (4) does not It can be placed under the shelves that form the shelf, preventing it from hitting its contents.
Description of the drawings.
For a better understanding of the description that is being made of the invention, a series of illustrative and non-limiting drawings are attached that reflect the preferred arrangement of the elements of the invention:
Figure 1.- Shows all the elements of the invention as they are placed on the shelf.
Figure 2.- Shows the exploded view of the elements of the invention.

The invention proposes a device that has been specially designed to protect the storage shelves of large installations in which forklifts are used.
According to the invention, Figure 1 shows how all the elements are integrated to achieve the protection of the shelving and its load.
First, we will place the pyramidal elements (1) on each of the legs of the shelf (2). Each pyramidal shaped element (1) has three inclined faces that protect three of the sides of the shelf leg (2) that are exposed to the passage of the forklifts. In the upper part they have a small flat surface that causes the wheel of the truck to not touch the shelf leg (2). On the fourth side, the pyramidal shaped element (1) has an opening that allows it to be attached to the shelf leg (2), being fitted without the need for any type of installation.
The coupling of supports (4) is a piece whose length is somewhat less than the distance between two shelving legs (2) and whose two sides are straight and parallel. At these ends it has a small plate (5) that allows it to fit in the elements with pyramidal shape (1), fixing permanently without any other fastening system. The outer face of these support couplings (4) has the same inclination as the pyramid-shaped elements (1), which means that the wheel of the forklift goes up on them, avoiding the direct hit to the shelf and makes Don't get under it. In the upper part they also have the same flat surface as the pyramidal shaped element (1) giving resistance to the assembly and preventing the trolley from shelving. To avoid that the truck can enter the gap between the legs of the shelf (2), the support sleepers (3) will be placed, which are located on the support couplings (4) and join two of the legs of the bookshelf (2) that make up the structure of shelves. These support sleepers (3) will be anchored to the shelf supports (2) with screws through a small recess with a hole (6) that they have at both ends.
